Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport is compact and well-connected to the city — but a few small choices at arrival can save you time, money and headache.
1. Pre-book over the prepaid counter
The prepaid counter is convenient, but rates are usually 20–30% higher than a pre-booked cab. Book on WhatsApp before take-off and your driver will be waiting at the gate.
2. Watch for free waiting time
Most pre-booked cabs include 45 minutes free waiting from your scheduled landing time. After that, expect ₹150–₹200 per hour.
3. Late-night & early-morning surcharges
Flights between 11 PM and 6 AM may attract a small night allowance (~₹150). A fixed-fare cab service quotes this upfront — surge-based apps do not.
4. Confirm the cab type
If you're carrying 4+ bags or are a family of 4, ask for a sedan or SUV — a hatchback won't fit comfortably.
5. Use the meet-and-greet board
For first-time visitors, ask your operator for a name placard at the arrivals gate.
6. Outstation from the airport
Going directly to Ujjain, Omkareshwar or Bhopal? You don't need to come to the city first — most operators (including us) do airport-to-outstation transfers.
7. Save the helpline
Keep your operator's 24/7 helpline saved on speed dial before you board.
